Regarding the prevalence of cancer, REDECAN's main objective is to periodically calculate estimates of the prevalence of cancer in Spain with the most up-to-date data possible and using methods agreed by the REDECAN cancer registries. Incidence data and survival data are used to calculate prevalence estimates. Thus, the precision of the prevalence results will depend on how up-to-date the available incidence and survival data are. This section presents the successive estimates of the prevalence of cancer in Spain made by REDECAN.
